6th Annual Rock The Rocks – Jazz & Jeans Event to Benefit the Falls of the Ohio

The Falls of the Ohio Foundation announces it’s 6th annual Rock The Rocks, fund raising event scheduled for Saturday, September 11, from 6-10 p.m. at the Falls of the Ohio State Park Interpretive Center in Clarksville, Indiana.

Aug. 5, 2010 - PRLog -- Proceeds will benefit the foundation’s Crossroads Campaign for New Exhibits.
“This year’s event theme of Jazz & Jeans is a tribute to our musical acts featuring two homegrown world renowned musicians…Sonny Lemaire and Jamey Aebersold”, announces Diane Swank, The Falls of the Ohio Foundation President. “Combining world class music with a world class facility makes for an exceptional evening.”

The feature act will be Sonny Lemaire and Friends with Jeffersonville native Sonny Lemaire of Nashville, and his Exile cohorts J.P. Pennington and Steve Goetzman performing along with Clay Mills (co-writer with Sonny of hits by Restless Heart, Diamond Rio and Darius Rucker). Early in the evening the Jamey Aebersold Jazz Quartet will play featuring New Albany native Jamey Aebersold, an internationally known saxophonist and authority on jazz improvisation and education.

Rock The Rocks – Jazz & Jeans will also feature dinner by Bristol Bar & Grille Catering, Bourbon Tasting by Jim Beam Brands Co., Handcrafted Beers from New Albanian Brewing Co., a silent auction and raffle, fossil bed hike, bird watching, and viewing of the Interpretive Center exhibits. The dress is casual. Tickets are $75 in advance and $100 the day of the event. Tickets are available for sale by calling 812-283-4999.
