Follow on Google News | Two Students Launch the First Social Network Devoted to Connecting Colleges Across New York CityNew York City students find a new way to communicate with their classmates and network across the city. The NYC Connect has launched a new social network with the hopes of making ‘the big city’ a little smaller.
By: The NYC Connect The NYC Connect was created with the purpose of connecting students across New York City. The site has a very familiar feel to other popular social networking sites except it is aimed at city students. Members can create a custom profile, add photo albums, join their college network, and partake in public discussions. “We created the site as a networking tool for city students” said John Tasch, Co-Founder of The NYC Connect. Although the site is available to all college classes, incoming freshmen are using the site to it’s fullest. On the discussion board, incoming students from around the world talk about their excitement for college, places to check out, and even forming groups to discover the city together. The NYC Connect reached its one thousandth member after only a week. “We are excited about the recent success of our site and will continue to create a safe environment where students can network freely”, said Tasch. To keep up with member demands, the site has already implemented new features including a chat room and the ability to post school events. To access the site, please visit www.thenycconnect.com.
