Smart phone-delivered versions of Expo Guides represent major sponsorship and ancillary revenue opportunity for show organizers

Aug. 3, 2010 - PRLog -- Interactive Mobile @dvertising Inc. (iM@ – pronounced “I’m at”) the leading provider of mobile destination and event guides for business and leisure visitors to major travel destinations, has entered into a strategic partnership with Smart City Networks, the nation’s largest provider of event technology to the convention industry. Working with the 35 major convention centers that Smart City services, iM@ and Smart City Networks will jointly offer a slate of mobile event/expo guide and messaging programs to major exhibition and management companies.

The initial focus of this partnership will be in Orlando and Las Vegas.  The combination of Smart City Networks’ Wi-Fi connectivity solutions and iM@’s mobile user interface and content management system will offer attendees, exhibitors and event organizers a robust mobile information platform that connects buyers and sellers as they move around the convention center.  With iM@’s system, attendees can access important event information as well as highly valuable local area content.  Exhibitors can send information directly to “moving target” attendees to attract booth traffic.  iM@ also enables show managers to generate incremental revenue, while eliminating costs and environmental waste associated with printed guides and booklets.

“Virtually every attendee at major trade shows carries a mobile device, and roughly two-thirds of business travelers carry smart phones,” said Kerry J. Cannon, Jr., CEO of iM@ Inc.  Our mobile content management platform combined with Smart City Networks’ connectivity and Wi-Fi capabilities offers show managers an incredible opportunity to better serve their attendees and exhibitors, while generating significant incremental revenue.  And the fact that they can reduce or eliminate printed show guides and programs is great for the environment and a huge cost saving.”

Mark Haley, president of Smart City Networks said, “Smart City is committed to providing our convention centers, show managers and attendees with the best event technology available.  We are excited to coordinate our Wi-Fi capabilities with iM@ to provide a more robust system of mobile content that will greatly enhance the communication capabilities at a show.  By offering more smart phone content, we can reduce the amount of printed materials which supports Smart City’s commitment to greener convention services.”

Smart City Networks and iM@ will be jointly marketing these mobile services to show and conference organizers in concert with the staffs of their 35 facilities nationwide.
