Aug. 2, 2010 - PRLog -- SANTA MONICA, CA—August 2, 2010—In response to a fundamental transformation now taking place in the alternative fuel and clean vehicle transportation sector, Gladstein, Neandross & Associates (GNA) announces the launch of the Alternative Clean Transportation “ACT” Expo and confirms dates at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center for April 20-21, 2011.  Set in Southern California, the recognized mecca for alternative clean transportation fuels and technology development, ACT Expo will showcase California’s long history and leadership role in the adoption of alternative fuels and clean transportation technologies.

ACT Expo will build upon the long running and iconic “Clean Vehicle Technologies Expo” – an event that has been hosted by the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) for many years – to showcase the tremendous developments in the alternative fuel and clean transportation technology marketplace.  This event will highlight the growing base of fuels and vehicle technologies, and will discuss opportunities, challenges, and successes in an interactive and engaging format.  Substantial space will be dedicated to vehicle displays and technology demonstrations.  ACT Expo will also present a hands-on opportunity for attendees to participate in a full schedule of technical site tours to nearby fleet yards, manufacturing facilities, and other locations to get a first-hand look at in-use technology, alternative fuel fleet fueling and maintenance facilities, and other real-world operations.  With a greater concentration of diverse clean and alternative fuel vehicle projects than any other place in North America, these site tours will provide a unique experience for attendees to get a first-hand view of real-world clean vehicle technology projects and talk to fleets operators with on-the-ground experience.

Significant progress has been made towards the widespread adoption of alternative fuels and clean transportation technologies as a result of federal stimulus funding (ARRA), AB118 funding through the California Energy Commission, and via various programs implemented by the Ports of Los Angeles, Long Beach, South Coast AQMD, and many other local, state and federal entities.  With so many impressive advancements, deployments, and developments occurring right in Southern California, ACT Expo will arrive in Long Beach as the largest and most impressive assembly of vehicles and technologies ever seen in the industry.  “This conference reflects the fact that we are undeniably at a pivotal point in the world’s use of energy in the transportation sector,” said Erik Neandross, Chief Executive Officer of GNA.  “Original equipment manufacturers and energy suppliers are bringing more alternative fuel and advanced technology products to market over the next 12-24 months than ever before.  This event will be ideally timed as these product launches can be showcased in a large-scale event with broad industry-wide appeal,” he added.

The announcement has been well-received industry wide, with confirmed early sponsors reflecting strong interest from variety of clean vehicle technology and alternative fuel sectors.  The Expo will attract a wide North American audience, with participation also expected from public and private organizations from throughout Asia, Europe and other continents.  Attendance from fleet managers and operators of fleets of all sizes will be a key component of the event’s wide-ranging appeal and timely relevance.  ACT Expo will work to actively engage and attract participation from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Clean Cities Coalitions – the nation’s disciples for the advancement of alternative fuels and clean transportation technologies.  With tremendous national activity resulting from last year’s $300 million Clean Cities Program, ACT Expo will serve as a platform by which to highlight and share stories about the progress and accomplishments being realized in a diverse number of projects from across the nation.

The ACT Expo has been designed as a showcase for these successes and as a collaborative environment for relationship building and networking.  The format of the event will offer a combination of Expo Hall time with general and breakout sessions.  The conference will assemble 91,000 square feet of exhibit space, reflecting an ideal balance of technologies and equipment and a focus on buyer/seller interaction.  Technical tours will take place both pre- and post-conference and will highlight genuine success stories—projects that have leveraged both public and private funding for the development, support, and adoption of alternative fuels and clean vehicle technologies.

Part of GNA’s “Low Carbon Fuels Conference Series,” the ACT Expo will take place at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center on April 20 and 21, 2011, suitably during the 41st annual “Earth Week.”  The technical site tours will take place on April 19 and April 22.  Speakers, sponsors, and agenda details will be announced over the coming weeks and additional information is currently available on the event website at www.actexpo.com.  For additional information, to pre-register, or sign up for updates, please visit the website or contact 888-993-0302.
