Aug. 1, 2010 - PRLog -- The TED Green Room, a publication resource dedicated to energy efficiency topics, has reported on the announced message by the Department of Energy to fund new projects.

The total amount of investments comes to $76 million, funded through the stimulus package. The money has went to 58 separate projects designed to make existing buildings more energy efficient and to train new workers to operate the buildings.

Some projects have received a large piece of the pie, such as the $3 million going solely to Dow Chemical in Michigan. Other projects such as Soladigm in California have reached as high as $3.5 million.

Some were disappointed to see the funded projects go towards making existing projects more efficient, and would rather have seen the money go to research and development of new projects. With the United States lagging behind other countries in this sector, it's something that must be discussed in the near future.
