Follow on Google News | O’Reilly’s Brings Beer & Cider Festival to GibraltarAs August turns up the heat it’s time for some cool refreshment in the shape of the O’Reilly’s Beer & Cider Festival 2010 running from Monday 9 August through to Sunday 15 August from 7pm ‘til 11pm.
By: O'Reilly's Bar Gibraltar Half of the Hunter twin publican duo, Andy Hunter, explains, “The Beer & Cider Festival will become an annual event where we showcase outstanding talent from Ireland and bring some midsummer merriment to Ocean Village. This year we’ll have a choice of nine draught beers and ciders plus a range of bottled beverages from rich malty Old Speckled Hen to Magners Irish Cider, Spain’s favourite San Miguel to Brothers Fruit Cider and of course plenty of pints of the black stuff – Guinness. And, a first for Gibraltar, we’ve imported some special one litre glasses similar to those used in Germany’s legendary Oktoberfest. It’ll be seven days to remember – provided you don’t sink too many!” Entertainment comes in the shape of homegrown talent alongside artists specially flown in from Ireland. Monday kicks off with local legend Craig MacDonald at the microphone followed by Emerald Isle-based vocalist Mark Braidner on acoustic guitar on Tuesday. Wednesday sees Michael Bublé and Rat Pack tribute artist James Huish, also from Ireland, with compatriot Ross Alexander appearing on Thursday. The weekend kicks off with Irish folk band Shillelagh on Friday, Sticky & The Poor Boys will be singing the Blues on Saturday and rounding off the Festival, powerful vocalist Sarah Howard on Sunday. To give the stomach some essential support, O’Reilly’s will also be serving its usual array of meals, snacks and ice creams all day up until 11pm. So bring the family down and enjoy the sunshine… For further information on the Beer & Cider Festival please contact Andy Hunter on oreillysgibraltar@ John and Andy Hunter have been part of the Gibraltar hospitality scene for 20 years and have five bars under their stewardship – Gibraltar Arms, The Star Bar, Lord Nelson, O’Reilly’s Irish Pub and Britannia Bar within the Cruise Terminal. -ends- for further press information or photography please contact Sarah Drane on sarah@purplecakefactory.com or call 00 34 607 564 726 End
