July 29, 2010 - PRLog -- ARVADA, Colo. - The board of directors of the Colorado Chapter of the German American Chamber of Commerce (GACC-CO) recently elected a new president. Jesse D. Young. A financial advisor with Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC., in Evergreen, Colo., Young assumed the position of president during a special meeting of the board of directors, succeeding Allen Salzmann. Young brings 20-plus years of executive level experience gained in Japan, Germany, and the U.S. which he has applied to the international community in Colorado for the past 10 years positioning small and mid-sized companies to move into international markets.

Regarding his new position, Young commented “We will continue to move the chamber forward providing valuable services to our members in the Rocky Mountain region and be even more involved in the international arena emphasizing the value that our region brings to European companies. One of our first goals is to develop an enhanced 12-month plan focusing on our mission and related top level objectives for the next year. I am confident that our members will find this to be a very smooth transition enhancing their membership investment in the long run. We also expect to capitalize on the improving German economy to the benefit of our members.” Young and Vice President Martin Meier have distributed a letter addressing the future of the GACC-CO in more detail to its members which may be read at http://www.GACCCO.org.

The GACC-CO also announced the departure of three board members, Fred Reim, cultural director, Maria Rase, director at large, and Astrid Ziedins, treasurer.

At a recent planning meeting, the board determined it would be in the best interests of its membership to increase the authorized number of board members to 13 to more effectively serve GACC-CO members and approved that action. As a result, the board is actively seeking nominations from members for all open positions. Members may contact any GACC-CO board member regarding a potential candidate; find them at http://www.gaccco.org/menu2/about-us/index.html.

The GACC-CO has been active in the Colorado international community with its series of speakers from Germany in the renewable and sustainable energies arena, Christkindl Market, German Day in Colorado, Euro-Networking, luncheon speakers and most recently its best ever 14th Annual Biergartenfest. During August the GACC-CO will again participate with other international chambers in the Euro-Networking event on August 26 as well the 3rd Annual Colorado European Festival on August 28 and will also again support German Day in Colorado from October 1 to 3.
