Two Happy Graduates!!!
Amongst the gloom of unemployment, Outsource Plus has put smiles on the faces of two graduates. The Kenilworth based company has appointed two graduates for the summer from both the University of Warwick and Coventry University.
Offering placements to graduates is one of the ways towards increasing job opportunities and allows young people to get real work experience while developing their skills for the work environment.
Outsource Plus have taken on two students on work placements – Sylvia Omenukwa and Nusrat Naseeb. Christine McNulty, Business Development Manager at Outsource Plus says,” Working with Sylvia and Nusrat has proven to be a valuable asset to our sales and marketing team. Their enthusiasm, input and creativity have proven to be extremely useful to the company". Christine further added, “I would urge other local businesses to consider taking graduates on a placements basis. Research from previous schemes has shown that one in four graduates are offered full time employment in the business at the end of their placement and this is a very positive aspect of the programme”.
Work placements are one of the best ways to employ people because it can be very difficult to judge whether someone is right for your company from a CV or short interview. Andrew Mobbs, Managing Director of Outsource Plus is a firm believer of recruiting graduates as the workforce of his company consists primarily of graduates who have chosen to develop their career at the local marketing agency. “Strong academic performance is a prerequisite for application but there are so many people chasing graduate jobs, it can make it more difficult for those candidates without employability edge and experience to get the jobs”
Sylvia Omenukwa, graduate of Coventry University said, “Finding a job was really difficult so I was delighted to be offered a placement with Outsource Plus”. Sylvia added, “Working at Outsource Plus has given me the opportunity to put together a variety of skills that employers look for when they recruit graduates and has also given me the chance to apply my course knowledge into realistic situations in the work environment. It has really been a very worthwhile experience”.
Nusrat Naseeb, an MBA Graduate from Warwick University, also on a placement with Outsource Plus says, “The marketing and strategy placement has given me the opportunity to transfer skills learnt from my MBA into a challenging work environment. This has improved my decision making and leadership skills. Working with the team at Outsource Plus has been exceptionally helpful and very rewarding”.
Employers value internships as a cost-effective form of graduate recruitment. The Futureworks Project Manager from Coventry University, Jenny Haycock, embraces the advantages of placements. She says, ”We have had some fantastic feedback from both graduates and companies alike. The Scheme has enabled companies to give graduates valuable work opportunities and in some cases offer permanent job opportunities at a time where the only news most graduates seem to hear about is gloom and doom in the employment sector”.
Outsource Plus are based in Kenilworth, Warwickshire and work with clients across all sectors ranging from Health, Education and Local Government to Commercial organisations across the UK.
