July 29, 2010 - PRLog -- A nice day perhaps at the beach, or in the town, to get home for a quick shower and light supper, before packing the bags in the car to set off for the train station for a relaxing 10 hour train ride home.

This is a viable new possibility as Eurostar's bosses begin to consider a train that will take British holiday makers from the Costa Del Sol in just ten hours. If Transport bosses have their way we could see tourists travelling this way in just a few years time.

This news shortly follows the announcement that a potential route from Paris to Madrid may soon be opened, with the service between Madrid and Malaga already in place it could bring the journey from Paris to Malaga down to a very reasonable 5 and a half hours.

This firstly serves to provide a much less stressful mode of travel between London and Andalucia, removing the airport drudgery of taxis, ticket checks, luggage depositing and retrieval, and security. While also offering a much more environmentally friendly way of getting about.

Taking the train to the Costa Del Sol marks a 90 per cent reduction in Carbon Emissions as opposed to flying. There are many green benefits to rail travel, pollutants emmited from the train are much less damaging to the environment as they are released at ground level, rather than directly in to the upper atmosphere, as planes do.

Furthermore since 2007 Eurostar have increased their ecological friendliness by cutting down emissions by  31 per cent, quickly exceeding their 2007 target of cutting down by 25% by 2012.

Eurostar have also introduced the tread lightly initiative, which pertains to recycle better their own waste.

The train service corresponds with a steadily increasing popularity to the area of the Costa Del Sol. After last year's 'staycations' and one of the most unrelenting British winters in recent history, UK tourists have been hungry to get out the country and have been returning to an old favourite holiday spot.

With the recession tightening the collective purse strings of British travellers, the increase of travellers renting one of the privately owned Costa Del Sol villas has gone up and up, now only rivalled by a waning hotel industry.

This hassle free mode of travel will not only be welcomed by those reluctant flyers, but also by those that are savouring the easy attitude of the vacation rental, as they share that easy going approach, free of the horrendous rhetoric of airports and hotels.

Though the flight to Malaga may take only 2 hours and 40 minutes, it is laced with all the inconvenience of the airport, and taxis and so forth, adding hours of inconvenience on to a journey. A ten hour train journey is a very competitive alternative.

By the end of next year you could be cruising or snoozing through the beautiful Spanish countryside, on your way back to London.
