Catahoula Cajun Band is a New York Based Group that plays Cajun dance music of South Louisiana, with some Country songs thrown in for good measure.   While all the band members hail from north of the Mason-Dixon line, their love of toe - tappin' dance and folk music inspired them to tackle the two steps, waltzes, and French lyrics of Acadian Louisiana.  The name of the band is taken from the Catahoula Hog Dog, a hunting dog native to Louisiana.  Catahoulas are known for their high energy and good effect on children.   We like to think our music shares those traits... with Julie Winterbottom on the accordion, Maggie Hoffee on vocals and guitar, Riccardo Heald on fiddle, David Wander on vocals and electric guitar, and Frank Luchinsky on bass.
