Mr Taylor said even though the company chose to move their venture from their humble beginnings in the backyard shed to a Currumbin factory, the time and money saved on not operating a traditional bricks and mortar shopfront was passed onto customers.

“Obviously we can keep our overheads pretty low,’’ Mr Taylor said.

“Which means we can offer great value prices to our customers, plus the chance to place orders 24/7.

“This point of differentiation has enabled us to grow enough in five years to set up our own manufacturing base on the Gold Coast.’’

Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) report on Australian Social Trends for 2008 shows the rate of at-home internet access for Australians had quadrupled in the past decade from 16% in 1998 to 64% in 2006/07, with emailing and online shopping the two most popular at-home uses.
