Darlene Love Film Project Taps Tina Andrews As Director

July 27, 2010 - PRLog -- REEL Good Productions announces a collaboration with award-winning screenwriter,  producer,  director Tina Andrews to make her feature film directorial debut on Who is Darlene Love?  
   Miss Andrews recently directed a sold-out theatrical production of "Charlotte Sophia" at the Highways Performance Space in Santa Monica.  Among her numerous awards, she received the Writers Guild of America, NAACP and MIB Prism awards for the highly successful CBS miniseries, Sally Hemings an American Scandal which she wrote and co-executive produced. She also wrote and co-executive produced the CBS miniseries, Jackie Bouvier Kennedy Onassis, and penned the screenplay for the Warner Bros. film Why Do Fools Fall in Love? starring Academy Award winner Halle Berry.  Additionally, Andrews created and directed the hugely popular Showtime animated series Sistas’ in the City.
   Based on the autobiography, My Name is Love, The Darlene Love Story with Rob Hoerburger (William Morrow & Company), the bio-pic will dramatize the singer's incredible career as the un-credited lead vocalist of many hits e.g., "Da Doo Run Run" and “He’s a Rebel. ”  The recently incarcerated "Wall of Sound" music mogul Phil Spector failed to launch Love as a lead singer or solo act.  Love, dubbed "the voice that launched a hundred songs" instead, spent 30 years singing back-up for some of the biggest stars of Rock & Roll.
