July 26, 2010 - PRLog -- Lubbock, Texas artist Jeff Vitale is featured in the latest issue of Truckin magazine Vol 36, No.10, in stores now. The 2 page feature includes 3 samples of his work as well as a very informative article into the life of this artist.

Jeff was born and raised in west texas, he has two older brothers that were very much into the hot rod scene of the late 70's, they were instrumental in leading Jeff into the world of grease and gears. Jeff began drawing when he entered middle school in the very early 80's, he continued to draw through middle school, but then stopped when he entered high school. For the next 22 years, other things grabbed his interest, during that time, life happened, graduation, a move to Austin Texas where he spent the next 15 years. A career as a construction contractor, then he met  his future wife, then a wedding 2 years later, then 2 years after that came the first of 2 daughters...All good to be sure.

But one evening while watching an early episode of "Overhaulin", he watched in amazement as Chip Foose sketched up this weeks car. Jeff began to remember that he used to draw pretty well 20+ years ago, he then began to wonder if he could still draw, and more importantly, if he could, how well could he draw after a 22 year absence? He went out that very evening and bought an 11x14 drawing pad, a mechanical pencil and a nice eraser. To his amazement, 22 years off seemed to have quite an improving impact on his ability to layout and draw a truck, although the first drawing took 3 weeks to complete, the red 69 Chevy truck you see on his website turned out very, very well.

He has not stopped drawing since, and earlier this year, Truckin magazine's "Radical Renderings" section caught his attention, and he submitted a few drawings in hopes of a return email, within a week he had that email and can now be seen in the pages of Truckin.
Jeff's intense desire to create is a large part of what drives him, He also designs, fabricates and builds custom hot rods and motorcycles. He is presently working on a heavily customized 1975 Chevy truck which he hopes to have land on the very same pages of Truckin in the near future. A sampling of everything can be seen on his newly redesigned website, so this will surely not be the last you hear from him. His art can also presently be seen and purchased at a local art gallery called Flat 12 Gallery in Lubbock, Texas.
