Christmas in July: Financially Strapped Stroudsburg Woman Receives Free Car From Local Kia Dealer

July 26, 2010 - PRLog -- (Easton, PA)- Constance Jacobs, of Stroudsburg, PA is celebrating Christmas in July after receiving a free car from Brown Daub Kia last week.

Jacbos, who is a traveling nurse and also a recipient of the Make a Wish Foundation for her terminally ill child, was involved in a car accident last December in which her 2003 Ford Windstar suffered extensive damage.

She attempted to get the car fixed, but after a 6 month ordeal with a crooked mechanic, Jacobs could no longer afford the repairs necessary to get the car back on the road.  She was further trapped in a large loan from a special finance company that prohibited her from getting approved for a new vehicle.

“The whole experience was a nightmare.  My insurance check was stolen by a mechanic who is no longer in business.  Even with police involvement, the necessary repairs were not done to my car.  I was literally out of money to clean up the mess, my car was not running AND I was still paying the loan,” says Jacobs.   I am so grateful to Brown Daub Kia for helping me get a new car…there was no way out for me, I was stuck,” she adds.

Jacobs was browsing low-cost used vehicles at Brown Daub Kia when executives, and ultimately Vice President Tom Ring discovered her plight.  Because she had referred numerous friends and family to the dealer in the past, Ring made the decision to donate a vehicle in her name so she could get back on the road and put her car troubles behind her once and for all.

“Constance is an inspirational woman and I’m glad we were able to provide her with a reliable vehicle that she can be proud of in transporting her child to appointments and getting herself to and from work,” says VP of Brown Daub Kia, Tom Ring.  “She has gone above and beyond to support our dealership and this is the least we can do in terms of giving back,” he adds.
