July 25, 2010 - PRLog -- Friday, 23 July 2010 09:27 0 Comments RESIDENTS of the Sa Torre area in Llucmajor have gone for almost a week without water, leaving residents raiding fountains and swimming pools in order to obtain this seemingly precious commodity. According to the mayor Joan Jaume, over 10,000 people have been left without water, as a result of a new water pump for the district being incapable of dealing with the water capacity.

Supermarkets have completely sold out of bottles of water, resulting in a lorry with tubs of water being called in, in order to satisfy local demand. Complaints have been made against the company Aqualia who are meant to provide water to the population, resulting in the Association of Residents denouncing the company before the Consumer Director General.
