Hard Drive 13: New Webseries To Begin Its Run This Fall

The series stars cb shaw, a Vancouver-based DJ and Video Remix artist who has become a steady fixture on the Las Vegas club scene. Shaw’s decidedly counter-culture vibe is a perfect fit for the role of Nomad, the skateboarding hacker, who holds the key to deciphering the data on the enigmatic hard drive 13. Nomad is aided in his flight by Dee, an old flame who was, until recently, affiliated with the same shadowy organization which now pursues them. Assisting them is Nomad’s friend Lifer, the hacker expert responsible for passing top-secret data into Nomad’s hands. Actor Terry Levergood ("OCD: Decent Ordinary Criminal") portrays Lifer with an enjoyable, good-natured touch.

Produced by Stephen H. Plitt, Michael Chmara, and M.E. Lewis, "Hard Drive 13" is the brain-child of Plitt, who wrote the script, then directed the project during two-weeks of principal-photography in Vancouver and Langley this past May. Plitt’s previous work includes the award-winning feature-length film "Testimony: The Fanny Crosby Story" and the wildly successful short film "Super-Anon", which has won countless awards and played in over 75 film festivals worldwide. "HD13" is a labor of love for Plitt, who has been working on the concept for nearly 20 years.

Producer Chmara’s and "HD13" web designer Preston Chuhon’s pioneering experience on the successful webseries and television show "Riese" has already begun to give "Hard Drive 13" the online edge it needs. Along with the rest of the team the two have created a web presence for "Hard Drive 13" that will provide casual viewers and fans alike with an immersive, entertaining and enlightening look into the travails of production, the adventures of the series creators, cyberculture, conspiracy theory and, of course, the fascinating story world of "Hard Drive 13".

Drawing inspiration from everything from the weekly movie serials of the 1930s and ‘40s to MTV and YouTube posts, Plitt has formulated the bi-weekly, sci-fi, high-energy, time-compressed "Hard Drive 13" episodes to keep viewers invested. Along with an intriguing storyline, each episode features chases, shootouts, conspiracy theories and a cliffhanger ending.

In addition to episodes, visitors to the website will find a plethora of supplementary material: vlogs, interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and elements of the story that, for various reasons, can’t be included in the bi-weekly episode.
