Imagine Prep At Surprise Seeks Presenters For First Ever College, Career, And Life Fair

July 27, 2010 - PRLog -- Surprise, Arizona—Imagine Prep at Surprise is actively seeking presenters and exhibitors for Imagine Prep’s first-ever College, Career, and Life Fair. The event which will be held over three days with a day devoted to each college (September 10th), career (September 8th), and life (September 9th).  

“At Imagine Prep at Surprise we take our mission to prepare students for college, career, and life very seriously,” explained John Buzzard, Principal of Imagine Prep at Surprise.  “Part of preparing students for college, career, and life is to provide them with opportunities to learn about college preparation strategizes and introduce them to several different colleges; expose students to a multitude of professions; and to give them the knowledge to make informed decisions about life including things like using credit wisely and the cost of associated with renting an apartment.”

Imagine Prep invites area business owners, professionals, college admission staff, and other interested persons to email john.buzzard@imagineschools.com complete with your name, professional title, and which day (college, career or life) you would like participate.  We are looking for both formal presentations and also people to staff a table during the fair portion of our event or fill out the volunteer form on Imagine Prep at Surprise’s website, http://surpriseprep.com/volunteering.html . The purpose of Imagine Prep at Surprise’s College, Career, and Life Week is to provide Imagine Prep students the information they need to make informed decisions about their future.  The college portion of the week will not only provide students with information about various colleges but also about strategies for selecting the right college, financing their education, and college-board testing tips.  The career portion of the week will introduce students to wide a variety of professions. Students will have the opportunity to speak with professionals to learn about the education and training required for a particular career.   And the life portion will provide students a forum to learn about: using credit wisely, how 401ks work, the importance of health insurance, unexpected costs associated with a first apartment (such as utility deposits), community service opportunities, and other presentations that will prepare our students for life after Imagine Prep.  

Buzzard continued, “To increase the real world learning experiences associated with Imagine Prep’s College, Career, and Life Fair KPRP, Imagine Prep’s student run internet based radio station will broadcast live from the event.  Students will also use Imagine Prep’s television equipment to create short documentaries featuring interviews with the presenters.”
