Anderson Plumbing Heating and Air Begins Installation of New Earthquake Activated Shut Off Valves

and Air announced today that beginning immediately they will be offering
earthquake activated shut off valves to all of their customers. “In the event
of an earthquake triggered gas leak, these valves can be a huge life saver”,
said Anderson. “Regardless if people are home or not, in the event of a large
earthquake, a spring loaded valve would trip and shut the gas off immediately.
This could prevent a large gas leak…or worse a life threatening fire or explosion”,
Anderson said.

The earthquake valve has some other advantages as well that can serve
the customer in non-emergency situations. The valve can easily be reset
by reactivating the sensor located on the wall. A push button shut off is a
convenience for the customer even for routine repairs. The spring loaded
technology is designed to avoid any false set-offs.

an earthquake of 6 .0 or higher, an earthquake shut off valve is probably one of
