Learn How To Hit A Fade Or A Draw With A Golf Ball

July 15, 2010 - PRLog -- I have been getting a lot of question since I posted the training video on the Swing Plane. One of the most asked questions reguarding the Swing Plane was, "how do I hit a fade and a draw?" I will make this as simple as I can, and if you have not yet watched my video on the Swing Plane I would recomend doing so: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUVkOFD43GE

If we have our target line / the line that the golf ball is going to travel. (Note this is not where that golf ball is going to end up, because if we are hitting a draw for example the ball is starting out on a target line that is right of our target and coming back to the left.)  We set up our feet parallel to that target line. In this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rP9v6sEjy20 I have set up 3 golf balls on this target line that I want the golf ball to travel. To hit a draw I take my back foot and drop it away from the target line about an inch, and on the follow through swing out away from the target line.. As you will see in this video the golf ball in the front is outside the target line about 2-3 inches, and the back golf ball is inside the target line about 2-3 inches. That will put right to left spin on the golf ball and it will draw. It is the opposite for a fade.

As you will see the golf balls have been adjusted, and the golf ball in the front is inside our target line about 2-3 inches and the golf ball in the back is outside our target line 2-3 inches. I have adjusted my feet so that my front foot has been dropped back away from the target line about an inch, doing so will create an outside to in swing plane and this will in turn put left to right spin on the golf ball to hit a fade
