International Council of Shopping Centers Appoints Mark Mikelson as Retail Chair for Nevada

July 15, 2010 - PRLog -- NEVADA— The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) appoints Mark B. Mikelson, AIA, LEED AP senior vice president and managing principal, Nadel Architects in Nevada, as the “Nevada Retail Chair” for a one-year term ending May 23, 2011. In his position as Nevada Retail Chair, Mikelson will be a spokes person for the retail community and address the issues that are uniquely important to this segment of the shopping center industry.

“The opportunity to serve as retail chair is one of the most rewarding parts of ICSC membership,” said Mikelson. “I look forward to this new responsibility.”

Mark has over 20 years of experience in the Las Vegas development market and is a licensed architect in Nevada, Arizona, and California. As Managing Principal of Nadel Nevada, Inc. Mark is responsible for the oversight of commercial, retail and mixed-use projects throughout Nevada. During his tenure with Nadel, Mark has proven the capacity to identify and explore alternatives for achieving great quality in meeting client-oriented goals. With a major focus in retail architecture and mixed-use projects, Mark has worked on a variety of retail and mixed-use projects ranging in size from ten (10) acres to 100 acres and has worked with a majority of the retail tenant and developers such as JPMorgan Chase, Walgreens, Fresh & Easy, Trader Joes and Drake Development.

The position of an ICSC Retail Chair must be filled by an ICSC member in good standing, who has an office in the division or state related to the position of interest. The candidate must also be a respect retailer, representative of the retail sector and a member of the Retail Real Estate Community. Mikelson is a licensed architect in Nevada, Arizona and California, and a member of ICSC and the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
