Gryphen Specialty Products and Services develops micro-enterprise ventures with adults with developmental disabilities.  Their line of dog treats have been conceived, produced, marketed and sold by adults with developmental disabilities such as Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Intellectual Disabilities, etc.  These individuals work side by side with typical adults and earn minimum wage or better for their work. According to Holly Nelson, Marketing Manager of Gryphen SPS, “Our staff, both those with and without disabilities, are part of the entire process of creating the treats: shopping for the ingredients, baking the biscuits, and packaging them for shelving. Pete and Mac’s canine focus group, responsible for testing all new treats and toys, responded with an enthusiastic “Aarrfff” when asked what they thought of the treats. Based on the begging for more that followed the first sample, parents of the furry kids in the focus group feel strongly that their dogs loved the treats because they taste good, not just because they do good in our communities.

Available in both Peanut Butter and Milk Bone flavors the treats retail for just $6 a bag. Each bag contains homemade, organic treats in a variety of shapes and sizes in one of the two flavors.
