The answer is beach volleyball!

Manhattan Beach’s long stretches of white sand and near-perfect weather have made the LA beach city popular amongst locals and visitors for years; however, beach volleyball is what truly has put this ideal So Cal oasis on the world map. This year, record-breaking numbers are expected to attend three of the city’s major tournaments: Six Man Tournament (July), AVP (August) and US Open (September).

Past and present beach Olympic volleyball legends such as Eric Fonoimoana and Kerry Walsh have either grown up or now choose to live here, enjoying its laidback attitude, amazing restaurants, lively nightlife and trend-setting boutiques. As Manhattan Beach’s popularity grew internationally due to appearances in major feature films and television shows (Blow, Point Break, The O.C to name a few), so grew the need for accommodations for savvy travelers.
