| Bishop Carlton Pearson and Gospel Singer Jonathan Nelson at Rev. Ike's Church in NYC on July 18.Dynamic and outspoken spiritual activist, Bishop Carlton Pearson, will be the keynote speaker at this special Sunday service, hosted by Rev. Ike's son, Bishop Xavier Eikerenkoetter, and also featuring celebrity musical performer Jonathan Nelson.
Bishop Pearson gained media attention several years ago, when he boldly rejected the fundamentalist concept of a punitive God who sentences billions to an eternal Hell for not becoming Christian, and began to preach his "Gospel of Inclusion". During that time, Pearson was embraced and supported in his search for spiritual truth by the late Rev. Ike. Carlton Pearson, who spoke at the church's recent Father's Day Celebration will again be welcomed as keynote speaker at this profound and empowering service at 2:45 PM, Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Rev. Ike's Christ Community United Church (Palace Cathedral), 4140 Broadway (at 175th Street) in New York City. Bishop Pearson was recognized as one of "America's 10 Most Influential Black Ministers" by Gospel Today Magazine and has appeared on numerous television programs including CBS Evening News, BET Tonight with Tavis Smiley, NBC Dateline and ABC's Nightline. Featured musical performer at this event will be Stellar Award-Winning gospel songwriter and recording artist, Jonathan Nelson, one of the leading voices on today’s praise and worship music scene. In 2008, Nelson revealed himself as a charismatic worship leader with his Top 10 smash “My Name Is Victory” which spent an astounding 65 weeks on the Billboard Hot Gospel Songs chart. That song and his debut album, Right Now Praise, earned Nelson three Stellar Awards, a total of eight Stellar nominations and a coveted Dove Award nomination as Best New Artist of the Year. Bishop Xavier Eikerenkoetter, Rev. Ike's' son and now leader of Rev. Ike Ministries will host this special service. Bishop Xavier has been recognized and acclaimed for his unique and powerful presentational style, which includes African drumming to connect his listeners to the Divine heartbeat. All are invited to attend and be blessed, and Pastor Sal Sabino extends a special welcome to the Hispanic community For additional information or directions, call Christ Community United Church at (212) 568-6700 or visit online at http://www.revike.org.
