Darragh MacAnthony excels himself again with the support of The Posh fans

July 13, 2010 - PRLog -- George Boyd has commited himself to Peterborough United by signing a new three-year deal. The 24 year old midfielder reached agreement with Darragh MacAnthony and Club officials in Portugal at the weekend.

Boyd said: “The Chairman (Darragh MacAnthony) did make me a great offer and I´m grateful to him for that.”  

Commenting on the Peterborough United supporters he said: “The fans have always been good to me and it’s great to play in front of a crowd like that.  I’ve been here over three years and I’ve had nothing but great backing from them. That definitely played a part in my decision. I enjoy playing for Peterborough and the fans.”

Posh fans were braced for an offer from a Championship club for the former Stevenage man, but Chairman Darragh MacAnthony was able to persuade him to stay in Cambridgeshire
