July 10, 2010 - PRLog -- Red Skelton born the son of a former circus clown and a cleaning woman, was introduced to showbiz at the age of seven by Ed Wynn, at a vaudeville show in Vincennes. At 10, he left home to travel with a medicine show through the Midwest, and joined the vaudeville circuit at age of 15.

He was the star of "The Red Skelton Show" on NBC Radio from 1941 to1949 and CBS Radio from 1949 to1953.  He went on to star in his own television show, the Red Skelton Show which aired from 1951 to 1971. He created such characters as Clem Kadiddlehopper, Gertrude and Healthcliffe, Sheriff Dead-eye, Willie Lump Lump and more.

Brian Hoffman’s Remembering Red – A Tribute to Red Skelton will be doing a special birthday celebration show on Saturday July 17th.
