Follow on Google News | Waukesha Choral Union Auditions Announced For 2010-2011 SeasonWaukesha Choral Union 2010-11 season auditions to be held Tuesday, Aug. 24 at 7pm at Waukesha South High School. Auditions will include vocal exercises, sight-reading, and part-singing. A solo is encouraged but not required. Accompanist provided.

Pieces scheduled to be performed in the 2010-2011 Waukesha Choral Union season under music director Ernest “Ernie” Brusubardis, III include: Britten’s “Rejoice in the Lamb” and “A Ceremony of Carols,” Handel’s “Messiah,” Waukesha Choral Union rehearses on Tuesday evenings at Waukesha South High School. Additional rehearsals will be held the week of concerts. The 2010-2011 Waukesha Choral Union season performance dates are: “REJOICE IN THE LAMB: A CHORAL TAPESTRY” Saturday, October 16, 2010 8:00 p.m. Shattuck Auditorium, Carroll University, Waukesha. “AN OLDE ENGLISH CHRISTMAS” Friday, December 10, 2010 8:00 p.m. St. Luke’s Church, Waukesha Sunday, December 12, 2010 3:00 p.m. St. Catherine’s Church, Oconomowoc “A GIFT TO THE COMMUNITY: HANDEL’S MESSIAH” Sunday, March 27, 2011 3:00 p.m. Shattuck Auditorium, Carroll University, Waukesha “ALL BEETHOVEN CONCERT” Saturday, April 30, 2011 8:00 p.m. Shattuck Auditorium, Carroll University As the premiere vocal group in the area, the Waukesha Choral Union has been musically active in the community for over 50 years. Originally a combination of the Carroll College student chorus and community singers known as the Waukesha Choral Society in 1949, the group became the Town and Gown in 1961 and the Waukesha Choral Union in 1974, taking its present form as an auditioned choir in 1978.
