By: TippettPR IN SESSION AT THE INTERCONTINENTAL LONDON PARK LANE HOTEL Unlimited brunch for the grownups and a “back to school” inspired cookery class for the little people are on the agenda this Summer in the Cookbook Cafe at London’s InterContinental Park Lane Hotel. Designed to ensure that London’s most popular weekend brunch menu meets everyone’s needs, little cooks learn new culinary skills, whilst the grownups eat, drink and read the weekend supplements. Best bits? What is taken home: happy kids sporting free mini aprons, wooden spoons and chef hats... and what isn’t : mess, homework and empty tummies. So, the sticky fingered Saturday school schedule is in session (family tongue twister thrown in) featuring these “Kids Cook” classes: •August 28th: Back to School – the fun part: Bread pencils, apple satchels and edible rubbers •September 25th: “Delish, (little) Darhlink” – The tiny trendsetter London Fashion Week menu:Pretzel bangles, pizza bags and chocolate broaches •October 23rd: Boo! Tasty not terrifying Halloween: Scary cakes, bone bread and chocolate worms •November 27th: With a tap of my wooden spoon...I’m a little cook.. magic!: Cheesy broomsticks, edible wands and owl biscuits And a bit about the brunch, brought to you by the team that won “Best Hotel for UK Food” (conde nast traveller, 2009): •Fancy address (there’s only one Park lane, no really, it’s One Park lane) without the fuss and with an affordable price tag •Non-lip service, properly kid friendly: roomy tables, buggy station and a fleet of Stokke Tripp Trapp high chairs •Shopping to the left, Parks to the right (leave them with chef and Dad, ladies? hit the stores) •Top notch dishes galore: freshly prepared eggs any style, waffles, pancakes, fresh from market choices served in a Tapas style including: Asian duck noodles, British beef and mash, chips, Chinese chicken satay and scrummy sea bream. Then there’s the market table literally overflowing with fresh sashimi, salads, cold cuts, prawns, cheeses, pastries, breads and sticky sweet condiments •Goes nicely with: v grand dessert trolley, unlimited Bloody Marys, sparkling Cremént, tea, coffee and still/sparkling for the well behaved •Value: Free for tiny ones (6 and under) and a reasonable “Sliding size scale” for teens to 17 (£24 per head) tweens to 11 (£15 per head) and adults (£39 per head).
