July 8, 2010 - PRLog -- San Diego, Ca – San Diego Boca FC (4-3-3) travels back to San Jose for a first round playoff match this Saturday night with a 8 PM kickoff at Yerba Buena High Soccer Stadium in San Jose, Ca. Winner of the match continues on to the NPSL Western Conference finals against the winner of Sacramento versus Bay Area being played on Sunday night. The NPSL Final Four Championship will be held on July 29-31 in Madison, Alabama with the winner of each of the regional division battling it out to crown a new 2010 NPSL Champion.

San Diego Boca FC Head Coach Papo Santos commented, “We are excited to finally get to the playoffs as it’s been a long road to get here as the entire organization has worked hard all year long for this part of the season. Now it’s time to put it out all on the line so we can advance to the next round. The team is ready, as we have few injuries or suspensions so we are full strength in that sense although we do miss our forward Cameron Roget who recently underwent a foot surgery and will be out indefinitely. I think the guys are very capable of winning but we have to play the right way and have the right mental frame of mind to get past San Jose first. Step one is San Jose and we won’t look any farther than San Jose at the moment.”

Santos continued, “Steve Gonzalez has been strong in goal for us all year long and our defenders have found the right mix with George Gomez and Jared Kukura anchoring the back. Up front, we have had a nice addition with Dan Antoniuk coming into the picture to work with Justin Picou and the rest of our offense. Our midfielders have had good games as we are going to need a big game out of both Abraham Gomez and Andres Canizales to dictate control of the ball. In our last game in San Jose, we also had a nice effort out of both Amir Vavafee and Froy Nolasco up front. We need everyone on the same page to get this win as it needs to be a team effort overall.”

Boca FC will be playing after enjoying a full week to recover and prepare for this match, which they have not been able to do for their recent previous league matches. When these two teams last matched up, Boca FC was playing on only two days of rest as the match ended up in a 1-1 draw in San Jose.

Real San Jose has not played a game since their meeting with Boca FC on June 29, and will have had 10 days to rest and prepare for this match. Also, they will be at their home field, which they have grown accustomed to playing on. Although, Boca FC didn’t seem to mind playing on the road, as they boast a 3-1-1 record away from home.

Come home with a win Boca FC!
