July 8, 2010 - PRLog -- Riverview, Fl. – It’s undeniable that Yoga, Tai Chi, and Massage have been gaining popularity in the past several years.  Why?  Because each have Proven Benefits and have Existed for Centuries in every corner of the world.  And, Serenity Stream Yoga & Wellness Spa “a wellness sanctuary” located at 11954 Boyette Road (about one block northeast of the Publix shopping center in the Boyette Executive Center) offers many options for improving your overall health and wellness. They are focused on the clients’ needs and strive to assist those who are making the commitment to getting healthier both physically and mentally by making the mind-body connection.

One way to make the mind-body connection is by making a commitment to getting healthy together.  Gary and Kathy Lenza of Riverview have taken the first step in improving their family’s overall health and wellness.  Gary’s journey started back in 2007 with encouragement from his wife, Kathy.  Kathy convinced her husband to try Yoga in an effort to reduce stress and find some balance in his life.  This is sometimes hard for someone who has spent 20 years in retail management, but Gary took the advice to heart and took his first step forward.  Gary is now finishing up Serenity Stream’s Conscious Flow Teacher Training Program and will be in the first graduating class of new Yoga Instructors from Serenity Stream.

Gary and Kathy didn’t stop there in their commitment to getting healthy together.  They began to encourage other family members to do the same.  Kathy’s mom, Ruth, at the age of 92 has joined in on their Yoga practice modifying the poses.  And, Gary meets with Ruth to do one-on-one chair yoga which has improved her strength in her arms and legs and Gary also holds a weekly Yoga class for his wife, mother-in-law, daughter and granddaughter.  Each takes what they have learned in their yoga practice and applies it in their everyday lives.  Yoga has helped each to reduce stress, relieve lower back pain, and Taylor—the granddaughter has actually utilized the three part breath that she learned to help calm down before taking her end-of-the-year exams and SATs.

Getting healthy together and making the mind-body connection has been impactful on this family—it could make a difference in your life and the lives of your loved ones too.

Gary is now teaching various forms of Yoga on behalf of Serenity Stream in the local community to the elderly, disabled, and to those needing a break away from the normal “Happy Hour”.  If you want to make that commitment to better overall health and wellness then visit us at Serenity Stream Yoga & Wellness – “A Wellness Sanctuary” in Riverview.  We offer many options to help you on your journey and a wellness staff eager to help and answer any questions you might have along the way.
