Follow on Google News | Fleetrates.com 2011 Mercedes-Benz E350 Convertible MSRP $64,475 Call 1-800-851-9000 for Sale PriceThe E-Class convertible has exactly the same exterior dimensions as the E-Class coupe, and like the CLK line before it, is based on Benz's C-Class platform architecture (yes, despite the fact that it's being called an "E").
By: Fleetrates.com The convertible top remains soft on the new E-Class Cabriolet, but the benefit is quicker operation than you'll typically get on retractable hard-top convertibles. You can open or close it in 20 seconds at speeds of up to 25 mph. When open-air motoring is desired, the cabriolet roof folds into a special compartment behind the rear seat panel. A retractable cover separates the soft top compartment from the trunk area, and it must be closed in order to stow the roof. When the roof is closed, the cover can be slid rearwards, and trunk capacity increased by 3.17 cubic feet to 13.8 cubic feet. The E-Class coupe offers 15.9 cubes. A pass-through loading feature is included as standard equipment for the new cabriolet, as is Easy-Entry a manually operated entry and exit aid for the rear passengers. Engines are carryovers in the 2011 E-Class convertible, so don't look for Mercedes' new direct-injected CGI powerplants at launch. Instead, you'll have your choice of the E350 convertible with its 268-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 and the E550 Cab with it 382-hp 5.5-liter V8, either one with a 7-speed automatic transmission. The E-Class convertible is also the first Mercedes cabrio to offer head airbags. Safety is increased by reinforced A-pillars and other braces. Visit http://www.fleetrates.com/ End
