After a well received Mike Gonzalez Fall 2010 debut, Mike Gonzalez’ new namesake contemporary collection moves forward into Holiday 2010 with his signature mix of luxe, casual chic, which continues to be inspired by his wife and muse, Christine Park-Gonzalez.

Renowned for his ability to seamlessly meld independent subculture with high fashion, the MIKE GONZALEZ collection offers a smart and luxe grouping of fabrications and shapes at digestiple price points. From fine convertible buttery lambskin leather outerwear trimmed with lambsfur, sequined silk dresses, luxurious fleece outwear and shirred leggings, to ultra fine tissue Tees and winter weight wool coats, the collection evokes the essence of Holiday.

“The inspiration for the Holiday came as an extension of the fall collection, but with a bit more embellishment and shine” says Mike Gonzalez. “Faye Dunaway in the Eyes of Laura Mars played a huge part of where ideas started evolving. I really loved the over-the top shine the film had, but paired with somewhat of a matte color palette from the film’s coloring. The paring made it even more interesting”.

This season, Mike Gonzalez plays with angular patterns, juxtaposing shine with matte, texture and convertability. Details range from sequined gingham, strong shoulders, layered raw cut petals, chain finged knits, to textured chunky knits.
