She is a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist, a Rehabilitation Movement Therapist, a Certified Nutritionist and a Certified Structural Integration practitioner. She is a graduate of the Boulder School of Massage Therapy (1994), the National Institute of Nutritional Education (1998), Allard Kenetics (2000), and the Guild for Structural Integration (2004). She is also a member of American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP) and the International Association of Structural Integrators (IASI). She also has a BS in Business Administration from the College of Charleston, Charleston S.C. After working for several years with an emphasis in Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT), Ann wanted to focus more towards helping her clients find long term relief from chronic pain. For six years she studied Movement Therapy, Iyengar Yoga, anatomy, the skeletal and nervous systems with Chiropractor, Senior Iyengar Yoga Instructor and Feldenkraise Movement Practitioner, Dr. Norman Allard of Allard Kenetic Systems (2000). She began teaching movement classes based in Feldenkraise called Movement Awareness. These classes focus on relieving neck, back, shoulder, hip, knee, foot and wrist pain. The movement classes also help to organize joints, stretch our muscles and help us learn how to prevent injuries and to re-educate and release chronic pain patterns within our body. She also studied the Rolf Method of Structural Integration which enables her to create a unique, holistic healing approach for long term pain relief. Today Ann has a private practice in Salida, Colorado. She specializes in relief from chronic pain complaints such as Headaches, TMJ, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Sciatica, low back pain, Tendonitis and Plantar Fascitis. A large part of her practice is focused on advanced, post 10 series, Structural Integration work which incorporates Movement Therapy, Structural Integration, Massage and skeletal joint work. She honors the individual goals of her clients and makes it her first priority to custom tailor the session to their specific needs.
