New Look For Historic Hillsboro Building

His choice, Pamela Hastings, ASID a Florida Interior Designer (www.ASID.org) and

former Ohio resident now based   in Sarasota, was retained for the detailed

architectural color specifications   on the façade of the landmark   100 S. High

Street Building in Hillsboro, Ohio.

    The   136 year-old building, built in 1874, is situated at the crossroads of

Main & High Streets the most prominent corner in downtown Hillsboro.

Now functioning as an office building,   in   previous lives it served primarily as a

local   bank.

Newly   transformed through the creative use of paint, the peeling all white

painted brick now comes alive with a new shade   of warm antique white on the

main   body of the structure and the selection of 5 other Sherwin William’s colors

www.sherwinwilliams.com  used for the restoration of the intricate architectural

detail.  

     Although the colors were not typical historic colors, as the building is not

on The    National Historic Register, they gave the building a more contemporary

look while at the same time keeping it coherent with the surrounding downtown

storefronts.
   
   The new look has received overwhelmingly favorable comments from local

residents and downtown Business Owners and   the building’s owner is hopeful

that it will help spur the Uptown revitalization efforts.

    Currently the building is occupied by several Departments of the State of Ohio

and   Haire Bohmer a private Wealth Management Firm.

    Ms. Hastings, a Registered Interior Designer in Sarasota for over 20 years

and a Board Member of the West Coast Florida Chapter of ASID (American Society
