Your Olive Branch Announces “I Love Fair Trade!” Contest

July 7, 2010 - PRLog -- People across the world are invited to creatively express what fair trade means to them through words, video, images, music, and other media in this summer’s I Love Fair Trade! contest.  Contestants’ submissions can cover topics such as the role fair trade products play in their lives, how and why they support fair trade, or how they think fair trade contributes to global peace and sustainability.    

Entries will be judged primarily on creativity, so there are infinite ways for contestants to express their love for fair trade, whether it’s in the form of an essay, poem, movie, song, or something else entirely.

This web-based contest is hosted by Your Olive Branch at http://yourolivebranch.org.  The submission period runs from July 5 to September 26.  At the end of the submission period, the judges will select ten finalists, whose entries will be displayed at Your Olive Branch during the voting round.  All are welcome to vote for the grand prize winner.

The I Love Fair Trade! grand prize winner will receive $2,000 worth of fair trade certified apparel, food, and other goods supplied generously by Alter Eco and Indigenous Designs.  The contest is also sponsored by Ode Magazine.

In addition to online and print efforts, I Love Fair Trade! will be promoted at the Lilith Fair summer music tour, which will stop in over twenty US cities in July and August.
