By: Jungle Lore Fort Tung was built with an intention to keep watch on transport from Borghat & to protect the region of Pavan Maval. Very strategically located, other Forts namely Lohagad, Visapur, Tikona & Pavan Maval can be easily located from this fort. The Plan: The drive through Amby-valley takes us to the base village of Tung known as Tungiwadi. We commence the trek from a Hanuman Temple. A walk of around 45 minutes takes us to an intact arch which is a doorway to the fort. The fort seems like a small pinnacle after we arrive at a plateau which has a temple & a water tank. It takes around 30 minutes from here to reach the top. ------------------------------------------------------------ Please note for all treks below is the schedule: Meeting Point 6.00 am sharp near Swami Narayan Temple, opp.Dadar station east Departure 6.30am sharp 9.30 am approx. small briefing session and trek starts 1.00 pm Lunch, 4.00 pm Descend down and departure for Mumbai.
