July 6, 2010 - PRLog -- Leading German corporate hospitality company PROSKE sports has offered its support to the Football Association following reports of a drop in uptake of Wembley corporate tickets for the forthcoming season.

The deadline for renewing corporate season tickets at Wembley was last Wednesday, June 30, and England’s dismal showing at the FIFA World Cup, which culminated in a humiliating 4-1 defeat against arch rivals Germany, has led to many deciding not to extend their tickets despite having paid costly ten year debentures.

The timing of the news, with the Champions League final set for Wembley in May 2011, could not be much worse for Wembley and the Football Association with the World Cup 2018 campaign climaxing at the end of the year.

But Proske Sports head of Sports Dr. Andreja Wieser offered some reassurance to the Football Association and said: “Wembley is such an iconic football stadium and London has such a wide range of restaurants, hotels and other attractions which provide a compelling case for England to host the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

“PROSKE was involved in the FIFA World Cup in Germany in 2006 and Wembley’s facilities are easily a match for those we have in Germany.

“The recession has played a significant role in the reduction in uptake of corporate hospitality at sporting events, as we have seen clearly in South Africa, and I am sure that any downturn in corporate ticket sales at Wembley will be short-lived.

“As the economy recovers and there is more confidence on business – as well as in the England team - hospitality at major sporting will remain an attractive platform for sponsors. Fans may not forget England´s performance at the FIFA 2010 World Cup, however, they will come back. Football is such a vital part of the English sporting culture and as the team develops, ticket sales will eventually pick up and I am sure corporate tickets at Wembley will be sold out.”

Dr. Wieser also suggested that PROSKE would be happy to assist Wembley to spread the reach of corporate ticket sales, using their corporate hospitality experience from the FIFA World Cup 2006 and UEFA EURO 2008 championships.

She added: “Germany may have beaten England at the World Cup once again but at PROSKE we have a huge respect for the Football Association and understand the attraction of Wembley tickets for sports fans all over Europe.

“We’d be delighted to assist the FA with our corporate and sponsor hospitality experience from the FIFA World Cup 2006 in Germany, if the opportunity arises.”
