July 5, 2010 - PRLog -- Saturday, June 26th on a hot sultry night in the heart of Atlanta's historic district, history was made. Author Barbara Barth hosted a benefit for Animal Action Rescue in Inman Park. Over $1600 was raised during the three hour event. Auction items were donated by local businesses, art galleries and local authors.
Key pieces auctioned included a autographed manuscript copy of Southern Author Terry Kay's upcoming book due out next Spring, "Bogmeadow's Wish", a romance set in Ireland. Several of Terry Kay's books became Hallmark Movies, including "To Dance With the White Dog."
A vintage screenplay of Pat Conroy's The Lords Of Discipline was also on the auction block.
Vintage oil paintings of cats and dogs stole the event as animal lovers bidded on these paintings donated by At Your Service Antiques.
Barbara Barth wrote The Unfaithful Widow, essays on her first year after the death of her husband. Not an ordinary widow book, but one that will have you crying and laughing as Barbara does all those things she never thought she'd do again.
Hailed by reviewers as a book not just for women, but for anyone who has had a loss and wants to come back as their own super hero.
Rescue dogs played a large part in the healing journey and the book is dedicated to The Power Of Love and local animal shelters.
The Unfaithful Widow can be purchased at Amazon.
