July 5, 2010 - PRLog -- 05 July, 2010 - Choosing the right ‘first dance’ song for a wedding can be difficult and often causes a few heated debates between the soon-to-be bride and groom. However, a recent survey carried out by www.musicmagpie.co.uk, the UK’s only cash for old CDs, games and DVDs website, has revealed that Aerosmith tops the list when it comes to first dance smooches.

The 1998 hit power ballad ‘I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing’ clinched the top spot as the public’s favourite wedding song, with many revealing they chose it for its memorable lyrics.

The survey also revealed that many would consider throwing away a CD or DVD that reminded them of an ex-partner. A resounding 73% said they would, not realising that with www.musicmagpie.co.uk they could have turned them into cash.

Rob Fox, Marketing Director for Musicmagpie, said: “People want their wedding to be perfect which is why they spend a long time thinking about the right song for their first dance, and everyone’s got a song that’s special to them in some way and reminds them of a particular event or person. So I’m not surprised that many admitted to throwing away or giving up CDs and DVDs to help them forget their ex.

“But instead of just throwing or giving them away, people could make extra money from their unwanted CDs and DVDs at www.musicmagpie.co.uk. This way, they can earn a bit of extra cash and get rid of bad memories at the same time.”

The survey also identified the Jackson 5’s track ‘I Want You Back’ as the song most likely to fill the dance floor at a wedding, with dance floor killer handed to The Cheeky Girls and ‘The Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum)’.

Other tracks narrowly missing out on the top spot included Whitney Houston’s classic ‘I Will Always Love You’, Shania Twain’s ‘From this Moment On’, Take That’s ‘Rule the World’, with Lonestar’s ‘Amazed’ ranking in fifth.
