The Lint Center Dedicates Newly Created Scholarship to Honor Corporal Christopher J. Coffland

The Lint Center for National Security Studies, Inc, today formally announced the dedication of its ‘Quest for Knowledge’ scholarship to honor United States Army, Corporal Christopher J. Coffland.

July 3, 2010 - PRLog -- The Lint Center for National Security Studies, Inc, a non-profit charity, focused on supporting the educational pursuits of the next generation of America’s Counterintelligence and National Security Workers, today formally announced the dedication of its ‘Quest for Knowledge’ scholarship to honor United States Army, Corporal Christopher J. Coffland.  CPL Coffland was assigned to the 323rd Military Intelligence Battalion and was killed in action during Operation Enduring Freedom in Wardak Province, Afghanistan on November 13, 2009.

The winner of the ‘Quest for Knowledge’ Scholarship will receive $500 to cover educational expenses in addition to a one year subscription to STRATFOR’s global team of intelligence professionals which provides an audience of decision-makers and sophisticated news consumers in the U.S. and around the world with unique insights into political, economic, and military developments.

“My family and I are pleased that the Lint Center has seen fit to dedicate a scholarship to honor my brother’s service and his unending quest for knowledge,” said Lynn Coffland. “Chris traveled the world finding new and exciting things; taking him into the world of professional football in Finland, to Australia as a lacrosse coach, and eventually to Afghanistan with the U.S. Army. We hope that the Lint Center scholarship will serve to help another individual pursue their dreams and continue in their own personal quest of knowledge, ultimately to make a lasting, positive impact much like Chris.”

United States Army, CPL Christopher J. Coffland was assigned to the 323rd Military Intelligence Battalion and was killed in action during Operation Enduring Freedom in Wardak Province, Afghanistan on November 13, 2009. A dedicated, brave and courageous American, Corporal Coffland received two Bronze Stars for bravery and a Purple Heart among other medals for his service.
