July 3, 2010 - PRLog -- Hoofddorp, The Netherlands: 4M88 B.V. has produced a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for its main desktop deployment product, DistriBrute.

The greater efficiency of DistriBrute produces up to 90% better value over 3 years in a best case scenario, and between 60% and 80% in an average case.

The main reason DistriBrute is able to save organisations significant sums is it that doesn’t require decentralized distribution servers and therefore requires less full time staff to complete tasks.

The DistriBrute Total Cost of Ownership is based on industry best practices and calculated over a 3 year period.

There are four categories of costs that contribute to the TCO of servers: hardware and software, IT operations, downtime and business administration.

1.   Total number of desktops
2.   Branch offices
3.   Availability of a desktop deployment product (or not)
4.   Costs evaluated over 3 year period

And according to IDC’s 2007 “TCO Server” study, 60% of total cost of ownership is in management and staff costs including training while only 7% makes up purchase costs of hardware.

Scenario 1: An organisation has 1000 desktops in 3 branch offices. Site administrators install desktops by using images. Using DistriBrute can realize 74% cost reduction by reducing the number of decentralized servers.

Scenario 2: An organisation has 15,000 desktops across 20 branch offices. A desktop management solution is available but it needs a server on each site.  Three high profiled IT administrators are trained to maintain this solution. DistriBrute TCO is can up to 82% by avoiding the use of 20 servers

Scenario 3: This organisation has 20,000 desktops across 100 sites that are connected via DSL. They want to avoid the use of a site server at each office but their current system needs it to work properly. DistriBrute’s TCO is 93% better than current deployment.
