Buffalo Filmmakers in running for Pepsi Refresh Grant

Filmmakers in Buffalo New are seeking a Pepsi Refresh to Create a series of “viral” videos promoting environmental awareness.

July 1, 2010 - PRLog -- Local Independent Filmmakers and Members of the Buffalo Movie-Video Makers Chris Scioli and Jared Garlipp are currently in the running for a grant from the Pepsi Refresh Project to create a series of short cross-genre films to promote environmental awareness.

The mission is simple; build a team of creative and passionate individuals to use the visual medium of film to promote environmental awareness and positive change on every level of community.

These short films would cover a range of relevant subjects impacting both our world and the people in it; need for energy conservation, renewable energy development, dumping, pollution, resource depletion and conservationism.

The films created specifically for release online will be done across multiple genres (mini-documentary, drama, science-fiction, etc.) in order to attract and develop broad-base appeal in delivering a positive message of progress and change that can be achieved through local/individual actions both small and large.

This project is seeking to welcome and develop teams of volunteer independent filmmakers with a passion for creating a visual message promoting a better tomorrow.

The greatest benefit of the proposed project is the product and the message will be out there on the web for years to come serving in it’s own way as a renewable resource.

They ask that for anyone interested to review the proposal and cast a vote for this great idea.
