Follow on Google News | New Series of Children's Books by Author Diedra ColeUpdate on Diedra Cole's "Little Voices, Big Dreams."
By: Ashley Wiederhold Cole, who suffers from Cerebral Palsy, understands how difficult it is to grow up with a disability. She hopes that her stories will reach out to children with special needs and motivate them to overcome whatever disabilities they may face. Although Cole's stories will be geared towards children with special needs, any child will benefit from her message. Every child comes across challenges and needs motivation to get through them. Whether readers face physical disabilities or the basic aches and pains of growing up, these stories will give children the basic tools they need to overcome their obstacles and fulfill their potential. In addition to inspiring children to reach their goals, Cole's stories teach them to accept everyone, regardless of their setbacks. This message of acceptance is an important part of growing up and will benefit every child, regardless of culture, class, socioeconomic standing, or health. "Little Voices, Big Dreams" is an extension of Cole's other major project, a motivational series for adults called "Three Strikes." The "Three Strikes" series promotes a similar message to the children's books series: despite major obstacles, you can accomplish major things. The second in the series, Three Strikes: A Soldier's Story, is due out this August. For more information about Cole's upcoming projects, visit www.diedracole.com. Cole's books are published by iUniverse, located in Bloomington, Indiana. She also works closely with Amanda Clark, a literary consultant.
