The free concert series features bands playing rock-n-roll, big band, jazz and other musical styles. The music starts at 2 p.m. and lasts until 4 p.m. every Sunday until September 5th. The concert series, which started in 1984, aims to bring family friendly music to the sunny San Diego area. This year’s musical performers include Rockola, Blue Breeze Band, Laura Roppé and the Bill Magee Blues Band, among other bands. The La Jolla Concerts by the Sea invites Ron Jones, hailed as the voice of San Diego, to emcee the event. Aside from musical performances, local vendors provide food and drinks to quench attendees’ appetites, and raffle tickets will be sold for a chance to win prizes, such as gift cards to local restaurants. Proceeds from raffle tickets and food sales will help sponsor future concerts.
