Team Australia Guru Re Establishes Driver Development Program

June 26, 2010 - PRLog -- The marketing brains behind the popular Team Australia racing concept is once again looking to assist young drivers in their goal to race on the world’s stage. During the 90`s marketing wiz Rob MacLean created a driver development program called Team Australia. In what could be described as a gutsy move, MacLean ran a two car Australian Team in the Opel Euroseries annual Nation against Nations Cup from his base in Hobart Tasmania. The program was a great success awarding MacLean with several International Marketing Awards and gave drivers such as Marcos Ambrose, Jason Bargwanna, Paul Stokell and many others their international debuts. The Nations Cup was the precursor series to the A1GP series.
In partnership MacLean introduced the MYGALE Formula Ford into Australia. He was behind NSW driver Phillip Scifleets successful campaign to win the British National F3 championship in 1998 and had Australian drivers racing in Formula Renault, Formula Ford, Formula Campus and Formula Palmer Audi. MacLean successfully lobbied the Australian Sports Commission and established an avenue of funding to assist drivers racing internationally. The funding has been available since 1994 and is now administered by CAMS

Rob MacLean works as a Marketing Manager and a Business Mentor working with small businesses and advertising agencies. He is planning a number of up coming workshops titled “An Introduction to International Racing” and is once again organising a number of overseas activities and opportunities in search of the next Marcos Ambrose.
