Judges from 5 continents for international media excellence awards

29 judges from 18 different countries have been named for the 2010 AIBs. These awards are independent of commercial interest and attract entries from throughout the world, representing the best of international radio, TV & cross-media broadcasting

June 25, 2010 - PRLog -- CRANBROOK, UK 25 JUNE 2010 – The list of judges for the 2010 AIBs, the International Media Excellence Awards, has today been announced by the Association for International Broadcasting (AIB).

Now in their sixth year, the AIBs are renowned for their independent assessment of quality, using external and peer review by respected professionals from the broadcasting and wider media industries. The AIBs are independent of commercial interest and attract entries from throughout the world, representing the best of international radio, TV and cross-media broadcasting.

The judges have a vast range of experience in different aspects of broadcasting and are drawn from all over the world.  The 15 different categories that they judge cover the broad spectrum from single news events to long-term investigation and from traditional terrestrial broadcasting to innovative use of multi-platform formats.   They also include awards for best marketing strategy and for most innovative technology.

In addition for the first time this year, the AIBs include a “People’s Choice” category for best TV coverage of a topic of great current interest.  This year’s topic is “Climate Change” and the shortlisted entries will be available for viewing online and on mobile during September and October.   For this category, the judges will be the online audience who will vote for their favourite.

Entries for all categories are currently being received from all over the world ahead of the deadline of 2nd July.  The winners of the AIBs will be announced at the awards dinner on Wednesday 10th November 2010 which is held in the stunning surroundings of LSO St Luke's in London.
