Toronto Could Raise MILLIONS by Selling Air Rights For Development Rights $400 to $600 PSF, CLARKE

The city and houses of worship could raise new revenues for transit, community outreach and charitable programs while the developers would get to construct taller buildings and have more units to sell by the sale of air rights to developers
June 24, 2010 - PRLog -- Peter CLARKE believes Toronto Could Raise MILLIONS by Selling Air Rights as Development Rights at $400 to $600 PSF.

Throughout many cities in the world unused air rights from existing building that surround future development sites are continually sold eager to developers for increased development rights but not in Toronto?

For example in Manhattan, as long as there are two adjacent properties, the city can sell the air rights to potential developers and has been doing just that for years now, unlike Toronto.

The transfer and then sale of air rights by the city to developers for the right to build to an increased height that would have not normally been allowed has the potential of bringing in MILLIONS of DOLLARS in NEW REVENUES for TORONTO.

Toronto Peter CLARKE believes has huge amounts of air rights that can be sold and as most of the current townhouses, condos and office buildings still have unused air rights that can be transferred and then sold to future developments sites throughout the city.

Our city’s other group of buildings suited to the idea of selling air rights to developers in order to raise funds are Toronto’s houses of worship, churches, synagogues and mosques.

The selling of valuable air rights by our city to developers would be a boon to both Toronto and the houses of worship as both would get more revenues.

Toronto gets new revenues for Transit and the houses of worship for their community outreach and charitable programs while the developers would get to construct taller buildings and have more units to sell.
