Peace X Peace Board Of Directors Grows And Greens

Gail Montplaisir Becomes Chair, Welcomes Social Entrepreneur Kimberly Weichel

June 28, 2010 - PRLog -- Washington, DC, Peace X Peace welcomes Kimberly Weichel to its volunteer
Board of Directors, now chaired by Gail Montplaisir.

Ms. Gail Montplaisir, who has been a member of the Peace X Peace Board since its inception in 2006,
brings business savvy and a results-oriented action focus to the nonprofit organization. Montplaisir is
President of Taurus Enterprise Group, Inc., a published author and speaker on environmental issues
related to construction, and a member of the Washington DC Building Code Advisory Committee―a
mayoral appointment.

Montplaisir takes the chair at a time when Peace X Peace as an organization is reducing its own carbon
footprint. Peace X Peace, which has traditionally used the internet to connect widely dispersed staff
members as well as a global membership, got greener in March of this year by taking all its
peacebuilding programs online. Though activities are virtual, the organization’s on-the-ground impact is
real and global. Each month Peace X Peace reaches over 17,000 subscribers in 112 countries with media
updates, including from-the-frontlines perspectives on issues affecting women and peace.

Kimberly Weichel, the ninth member of the diverse Peace X Peace Board, is an active asset to the DC
peacebuilding community. Weichel is a social entrepreneur who has worked for 30 years building
bridges between cultures and segments of society, providing the skills and education that people need
to improve their own lives. She is an advocate for women’s advancement and empowerment and has
trained and supported women in many countries. Weichel is co-founder and director of the Institute for
Peacebuilding. To learn more about Weichel and her extensive work, read her profile at
