All three are working together to oversee the renovations of the property, with both professional and volunteer assistance from congregants of Round Hill United Methodist Church and the local community. “A key component of our franchise charter is community service. When I was informed of the Thomas’ plight I knew right away it was an opportunity to give something back to the communities we serve,” said Steve Simons of Handyman Matters. Their home, which through the years had adequately served their needs, is now largely unsuitable: it was in poor repair, filled with years’ worth of cast-off belongings of extended family, and in need extensive adaptations if it were to accommodate the needs of two ailing and elderly residents. Affording the repairs and accommodations that would make their home safe, sound and secure was beyond their reach. And that’s where three professional contractors have come in to join forces and help get the Thomas’ back in their home. Steve Simons of Handyman Matters is available for interviews.
