Supportive Housing Innovation & Leadership Award Winners Announced

Recognizing Supportive Housing Leadership and Development in Los Angeles County Reception to Honor Six Recipients
 
June 18, 2010 - PRLog -- LOS ANGELES – 1000 Homes, an Urban Land Institute community initiative focused on ending chronic homelessness in LA County, will host the Supportive Housing Innovation awards event honoring housing developers, individuals and organizations who have contributed to the growth and vitality of the supportive housing sector. The awards will be presented at a dinner reception held at Los Angeles City Hall.

“We are pleased to  recognize innovative housing projects that are opening doors for the chronically homeless in our community,” said Shahrouz Golshani, Chair of the ULI Los Angeles 1000 Homes Committee. “Our Awards Committee has selected an impressive and inspiring group of projects for 2010. It is our hope that by showcasing  projects that offer cutting-edge design, and that offer innovative approaches in terms of housing and services model and community improvement, we can help play a role in ending chronic homelessness in Los Angeles.”

Also during the event, Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) will launch its first annual Supportive Housing Champion awards which will honor individuals and organizations that have demonstrated extraordinary leadership in advancing supportive housing creation in Los Angeles County.  CSH is a national nonprofit community development financial institution which provides the advocacy, expertise, leadership, and financial resources to make it easier for local communities to create and operate supportive housing.  The Supportive Housing Champion awards are sponsored by JP Morgan Chase & Co.
