SBS Group Hits a Home Run with Monroe Special Sports Program

June 18, 2010 - PRLog -- Woodbridge, New Jersey—June 18, 2010 – On Sunday, June 13th, SBS Group teamed up with Monroe Special Sports to volunteer time during a “Buddy Ball” game. SBS Group, a leading technology consulting firm, provides mid-market accounting & business management solutions to companies along the East Coast and Gulf Coasts.  SBS Group employees joined Buddy Ball where children with special needs, including autism and developmental disorders practiced hitting, catching and playing a game.
   
The Monroe Special Sports Program is a non-profit group that enables children with social, behavioral and mental difficulties to participate more fully in four sports programs. It is a social and recreational program for kids, siblings and families located in Monroe Township, New Jersey.  The program includes Buddy Ball, Basketball Pals, Track Stars and Kings & Queens Bowling.  

Su Reiser, Director of Monroe Special Sports, states “It was a pleasant surprise to see so many new volunteers all from the same company.  After a few minutes of instruction the SBS Group volunteers joined us on the fields to interact with our players.  With such a wide variety of needs, ages and abilities, it is nice to have a large pool of volunteers to match them up with.”

Su Reiser - Director, runs Monroe Special Sports with the Parent Volunteers Committee. They are dedicated to improving the lives and recreation of special needs children and their families.  We have fours sports now to offer the entire family, Track Stars, Buddy Ball Baseball, Basketball Pals, and Kings &Queens Bowling.   We always need volunteers to work with the athletes, handle paperwork, or sibling supervision, and hospitality.
